Fascinating set, with the Vol I and II title pages being placed at the end of the last volume Vol VIII. Volume I 1-200, II 201-400, III 401-600, IV 601-800, V 801-188, VI 189-368, VII 389-588, VIII 589-772. 27 by 20 cm's.
Approx 200 pages per book. It seems like the pages for the 2 volume set which was released the same date, were split up into 8 volumes. Pages are strong and very good condition. All the images which should be spread throughout the books are all at the start of each volume.

Original red embossed decorated cloth all round with gilt titles and decoration on the covers and spines.
The paper guards for the prints are heavily foxed, but the prints are very good. Splitting to one spine, paint mark on another. Several pages are uncut, see images.
