CRICKET - Thrown Out - Chucker Meckiff CRICKET - Thrown Out - Chucker Meckiff Non-fiction

Just in from Australia, this First Edition Hardback with Intact Dustjacket published 1961, in great Unmarked Condition.
The most publicised and controver-
sial cricketer since the "Bodyline Era" breaks his silence to reveal for the first time his feelings on the throwing war waged against him.
Meckiff is the Australian left-arm speed bowler who exploded with so much impact by taking 6 wickets for 38 runs against England in the Second Test of the 1958-59 English tour of Australia, that he pushed the Soviet attempt to fire a rocket at the moon from the front page of many news-papers.

It was during his sensational success in this game that the English press started calling him a "chucker".

Until now Meckiff could not speak because he was gagged by a "no comment" contract with the Australian Board of Control. Through injury and the war of nerves directed against him, he missed the 1961 tour of England and he now seizes the chance to hit back at his critics in a style that is as controversial as his bowling.

However, the book is not confined to the throwing question-there's a sparkling summary, with action pictures, of the fantastic 1960-61 West Indies tour and the 1958-59 English tour of Australia.
