Diecast Vintage Matchbox Maserati 4CLT/1948 Red - Good, slightly chipped condition/No Box

Being sold from my personal model collection is this pre-owned vintage Matchbox diecast model of a Maserati 4CLT/1948 which competed in Grand Prix and Formula 1 motor racing between 1948 and 1951.

** GOOD/SLIGHTLY CHIPPED ORIGINAL VINTAGE MATCHBOX MODEL WITHOUT ORIGINAL BOX **

* Matchbox 52A is a model of a Maserati 4CLT/48 F1 racing car from 1948. It was raced in F1 races from 1948 through to 1951 with decreasing levels of success. First released in 1958 making this a strange model for Matchbox to select for their range as it was already 10 years old and Maserati had a more recent very successful car, 250F. However Dinky Toys had the same earlier car in their range. Initially available in red with a yellow variant replacing this during 1962. The car carried racing number 52 except on the early first series cars which were blank. Also, some of the late cars carried numbers 5 or 3 but these are rare. Wire wheels were introduced during 1961, initially on red painted cars. The scale is approximately 1/60th. The model was withdrawn in 1965.
