Vintage Ornate Mirror & Pair of Italian Gilt Wall Sconces Complete Set

Vintage Ornate Mirror & Pair of Italian Gilt Wall Sconces – Complete Set

A distinctive vintage decorative set combining an ornate mirror, believed to date from the late 19th century, with a matching pair of Italian gilt wall sconces from the 1940s–1950s.

The Mirror

The mirror features an ornate decorative frame with sculptural detailing and a traditional wooden construction.

It is believed to date from the late 19th century, although its exact age has not been independently confirmed. The frame shows signs of age and wear, while the mirror glass displays visible spots and blemishes consistent with ageing and deterioration of the reflective backing. These features contribute to its authentic aged character.

The mirror is considerably older in appearance and character than the accompanying wall sconces. Its exact date has not been established.

Dimensions: 65 × 45 cm, including the frame.

The Wall Sconces

The set includes a matching pair of Italian wall sconces dating from the 1940s–1950s. They feature carved gilt-finish wooden frames inspired by Venetian Rococo design, adding an elegant classical touch.

Both sconces have been rewired and fitted with new lamp holders by a qualified electrical technician. Both are working.

Dimensions of each sconce: 17 cm high × 11 cm wide × 18 cm deep.

Condition

Vintage condition, with signs of age and wear consistent with the character of the pieces. The mirror glass has visible age-related spots and blemishes. Please examine all photographs carefully for details of the finish, construction and condition.

A Distinctive Decorative Set

Together, the mirror and matching sconces create an elegant feature for a hallway, living room, bedroom or traditional interior. The combination of an older mirror and mid-20th-century Italian sconces gives the set a distinctive character that goes beyond ordinary modern wall décor.
