SUPERB Gilt Rococo Wall Mirror, Carved Frame with Bevelled Plate - REDUCED PRICE

A very, very handsome gilt wall mirror in the Rococo taste, the richly carved frame worked in flowing acanthus scrolls beneath a bold shell crest. Ribbed wheat-ear swags twist down either side, and a pierced shell and scroll apron finishes the foot. The gilding carries a warm, softly rubbed patina, with darker tones lingering in the recesses of the carving that lend it real depth and character.

The bevelled mirror plate is clear and bright, and it catches candlelight beautifully. A fine piece for a hallway, landing, dining room or above a console, where the carving can be properly admired.
