Rode NT2a - Damaged
I got this mic second hand.
Apon plugging it in and doing a couple of vocal takes I noticed a lowend hum on the eq of the mixing console.
I changed the polarity pattern and it left.
We recorded multiple vocals for a track and midway through the session the hum came back but much louder, we then swapped out mics.
I have good experience servicing gear. I dissembled the mic and noticed a tiny piece of the the side of the mother board (not near any of the electronics) missing.
I presumed it may have been dropped before.
I cleaned the motherboard, body and diaphragm casing. I checked all of the cabling and soldering points and everything seemed fine.
Im not willing to go at the diaphragm as I know they are very delicate.
I said I would put it up here and maybe someone with nore experience then myself might be able to get a sweet deal and the mix can get another shot.
