Neumann U87ai

The industry standard high-end large diaphragm condenser.
This mic needs no introduction. There's not a studio musician or engineer on the planet who doesn't rate these mics on the top tier.

I picked this up about half a year ago 2nd hand from a studio clearout. It was used a lot in that studio for about 22 years, so it has some age related wear. There are dings on the grille and one ding on the casing as pictured.
These do not affect the sound. It sounds like it should: outstanding.
I love using this mic but I am between. Studio spaces at the moment and expecting my first baby so I could do with more expendable income and don't get the use out of it currently.

A lot of people claim the ai is inferior to the original U87, but if you look up comparison videos on YouTube there are subtle differences between the two. Great presence on the mid range. Makes the vocals stand out. Great for mono drums too as demonstrated by glitter after party on instagram.

I am not interested in low ball offers. If I can't sell it for good money, I will just keep it til I have a new home for it.
I will include this brand new unused universal cradle for asking price.

I can post at buyers expense, but I would really rather not in case it is damaged in transit.
