Authentic Ehrenkreuz des Weltkriegs 1914–1918 ("Honor Cross of World War 1914/1918"), also known as the Hindenburg Cross. This is the combatant’s version, awarded to German soldiers who served on the front lines during World War I.
Introduced in 1934 by the Weimar Republic (under President Paul von Hindenburg)

Good vintage condition; some patina and age wear. A perfect addition to any WWI militaria collection or German history display.
The medal was issued with the ribbon only, and the veteran would have had it mounted by a jeweler or tailor onto a pin-back bar for wear on clothing or uniform. The medal itself never had an integrated pin; the pin was part of the ribbon mount.
