€1,350

Formation patched to the 3rd Division CE, with British private purchase GS leather buttons, detachable wound stripe, 2 years overseas blue service chevron, voided ‘Canada’ shoulder titles, and Canadian general list collars.

The tunic is in very good shape with some repairs to the lower front of the tunic and some light mothing (see photos). These don’t affect the display-ability of the tunic too much. Possibly period repairs (they look very old) Everything about the jacket seems to be original and correct. The interior dressing pouch is sewn shut, likely when the soldier was returning home and had no further use for the pocket. Some clear use seen at the end of the Great War judging by the interior grime.

The Canadian engineers attached to the 3rd Canadian Division in World War I were a key part of the Canadian Expeditionary Force and handled everything from trench construction to bridges, tunnels, roads, water supply, demolitions, and battlefield communications

Dated 1918 on the reminder of the paper label to the interior with Crows foot and size stamps, This rather rare and unique jacket really stands out making for a tasteful display when done right (see last photo) Certainly a reluctant sale but would be happy to see it go to a good home.

( NOTE : 1908 webbing and other items for sale separately)
