WW 11 hand built Campaign Chest
Here is a stunning piece of history from WW11..It is a hand built Campaign Chest of Rev J.C.L. Isard,CF.He joined the 14 th infantry as Captain on June 15th 1939.He seen action in both the North African and Burmese campaigns. The trunk itself is a great piece of workmanship. All of the joints are tenon and mortised. The trunk has been wrapped in flat bar and and hinged locks made up for it.The handles also look to be handmade. The rear of the lid has two hinges and extra linchpin hinges added for extra support. It's in it's original paint, with some cool stickers still in place. The inside is fully Galvenized. This would protect against humidity and the rainy season. This is a big trunk that is 42 inches long,14.5 tall and 22.5 wide. There are skids on the base of the trunk. It's in overall great condition..a sliver missing on one lip(simple fix)..This is a beast of a trunk weighing approximately 7 to 8 stone.. Collection on this one please or you arrange a courier. This is extremely well priced for such an authentic piece. Thanks for looking please check out my other ads.
