Vintage WWII RAF "Victory Bell"
Vintage WWII RAF "Victory Bell" cast from melted-down aluminum salvaged from downed German Luftwaffe aircraft during World War II.
The Bell features the profile of Winston Churchill and the text around the rim reads: "RAF BENEVOLENT FUND - CAST WITH METAL FROM GERMAN AIRCRAFT SHOT DOWN OVER BRITAIN."
These Bells were only made for one year (1945-1946) as commemorative keepsakes to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund to support the families of RAF personnel.
Would be of interest to a collector of Military items.
