Vintage 1940s/1950s Motor-Racing Memorabilia Display in Deep Wooden Frame

A fantastic large glazed display featuring a collection of vintage British motor-racing memorabilia, carefully arranged against a dark green fabric background.
The collection centres around two early race programmes: a 1949 Goodwood Motor Race Meeting official souvenir programme and a 1950 RAC Grand Prix d’Europe/British Grand Prix official programme from Silverstone. The display also contains a white open-face racing helmet, vintage goggles, motoring accessories, gauges, period packaging, racing photographs and a small trophy.

Items included:
• White open-face racing helmet with peak and chin strap
• Vintage racing goggles
• Original-style Stadium Mark 7/H goggle box, marked “Made in England”
• BARC Goodwood Motor Race Meeting official souvenir programme, dated 17 September 1949
• Royal Automobile Club Grand Prix d’Europe, incorporating the British Grand Prix, Silverstone, dated 13 May 1950
• KLG Racing Plug box
• Champion spark-plug box
• Lodge-branded case or box
• Two vintage circular dashboard instruments, including an oil gauge
• Decorative motor-racing badge or award plaque on a wooden backing
• Small silver-coloured trophy cup on a dark base
• Selection of period motor-racing photographs and images
• Motor Sport display heading
• Dark green fabric-lined interior
• Substantial glazed deep wooden frame with an attractive burr-effect finish

The frame, glass and interior arrangement are all in great overall condition. The paper items and packaging show some natural age-related wear, which adds to the character of the display.
This is a substantial and highly decorative piece that would look fantastic in the home, office, garage, showroom, pub or workshop of a classic-car or motorsport enthusiast.
