Scarce WW1 3-piece Shoulder Title - 3rd Tyneside Scottish, 22nd Northumberland Fusiliers
Scarce, Great War, 3-part shoulder title, as worn by the 22nd (Service Battalion) Northumberland Fusiliers (3rd Tyneside Scottish) who were raised as a Pals Battalion in 1914. The 3rd Tyneside Scottish arrived Alnwick Camp in May 1915 and landed France in January 1916. Serving with distinction at the Somme and beyond, the remnants of the Battalion returned England at Cadre strength in May 1918, before embarking for service with the 16th (Irish) Division in June 1918.
Unfortunately, no backing plate, but good, original, clean condition.
One lug missing to the ‘Scottish’ title and unsure if ‘3’ is original, and this is reflected in the price.
