Queen Victoria Silver Jubilee medal
This is the 55mm silver medal not the baby 25mm one. weight 84.6 grams
Obverse (Older Portrait): Shows the "Veiled Head" or "Old Head" of Queen Victoria. The Latin inscription translates to: "Victoria, by the Grace of God, Queen of the Spains, Empress of India, happily closes the 60th year of her reign, 20 June 1897."
Reverse (Young Portrait): Shows the "Young Head" of Victoria from 1837 (the year of her accession). The inscription is a passage from Proverbs 3:16: "Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour."
