Original WWI French Croix de Guerre 1914-1918 (with Bronze Star)

This is an authentic French Croix de Guerre (War Cross) from the First World War. This medal was established in 1915 to recognize individual acts of bravery and g1allantry by French and Allied soldiers cited in military dispatches.
​Front: Features a bronze cross with crossed swords and a central medallion depicting "Marianne" (the symbol of the French Republic) surrounded by the text "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE."
​Back: Clearly dated 1914–1918 in the center.
​Ribbon: Original green ribbon with red vertical stripes and includes a Bronze Star (Étoile de Bronze). This indicates that the recipient was "Mentioned in Dispatches" at the Regiment or Brigade level.
​Good vintage condition. The bronze has a natural aged patina. The ribbon shows some minor fraying at the top edges consistent with its age (over 100 years old), but remains intact.
