Original Mid Century 1963 Grand Prix d'Europe Monaco poster Original Mid Century 1963 Grand Prix d'Europe Monaco poster Memorabilia

Think ‘Mid Century’, think, California, think Florida, think London in the Swinging 60s. Think Picasso and Bardot in the French Riviera. Think kids on Lambretta’s in Milan.
Think of the iconic Monaco Grand Prix in 1963 - the first race in that Constructors Championship - and a race that was dominated by British drivers.
Here we have an incredible reminder of those times in the form of an original poster by Beligond for the opening race of the 1963 Grand Prix d’Europe, the Monaco Grand Prix.
A race that had Jim Clarke in Pole. That had John Surtees take the fastest lap. That saw Graham Hill take first for BRM.
This iconic poster has been much replicated, however this is an original - published by Thivillier of Paris for J. Ramel of Nice and retains the original trim line to the left hand edge. This rare survivor has been professionally mounted onto a linen backing and is in superb overall condition with only very minor foxing to a 4cm area of the extreme left border. Please see photograph of this area. This is being sold as original, and came with other travel and tourism posters from a collection that belonged to the Automobile Club de Picardie et de l’Ainse of 38 Rue Saint-Fuscien in Amiens, France.
Poster area measures 59cm by 41cm with overall measurement of 64.5cm by 45.5cm on the linen backing.
A fabulous addition for any enthusiast of motor racing; travel and tourism; or Mid Century nostalgia.
Please see our other listing for a range of rare, original, 1950s, 60s and 80s travel posters.
