Lot of 4 Original WWI German Death Cards (Sterbebilder) 1915-1917 - Infantry & Priest

For sale is a poignant collection of four original German Sterbebilder (Memorial Death Cards) dating from the First World War. These cards were traditionally handed out at funerals in Bavaria to commemorate the deceased and request prayers.
​This lot includes three soldiers who died in service and one Catholic priest. They offer a fascinating primary-source look into German military and social history during the Great War.
​The Collection Includes:
​Johann Mittermeier (1915): Soldier in the 23rd Infantry Regiment. Wounded in action and died in a Munich hospital following surgery.
​Georg Strehuber (1917): Soldier in the 9th Infantry Regiment. Died for "Fatherland" at age 22. Features classic patriotic/religious verse.
​Joseph Romminger (1917): Soldier in the 21st Infantry Regiment. Died in a military hospital in Osnabrück.
​Alois Rädlinger (1917): A civilian memorial for a Parish Priest and School Inspector from Wetzelsberg.

​Details:
​World War I (All dated between 1915–1917).
​Good vintage condition. Authentic age-toning and minor wear consistent with being 100+ years old. One card has a small edge tear (see photos).
​The reverse sides feature beautiful, somber religious lithographs of Christ and the Virgin Mary.
​Language is in German (Fraktur script).
