Defence Of The Realm Permit Book(WW1)
Here is a WW1 issued defence of the realm permit book.Thede were issued to control movements in and out of sensitive areas.This permit was issued to Corporal Jospeh Scanlon of the King's Royal Rifles on June 1st 1917.He was in the rifles from Dec 98 to Dec 1915..He used the permit to travel twice to Ireland for three months in 1918..The piece was never designed to be in existence over 100 years later..the staples have rusted out of this..but it is all there..a couple of small moth holes also..A very hones piece that is very sensibly priced.
