Castrol 2-gallon Petrol Can With Shell Brass Cap. C.1940s
Fleet-stamped on the reverse, 8181, No.740, this can was somebody’s working stock. Logged, numbered, used. Castrol on the body. Shell brass cap seated on top. Two of the biggest names in British motoring on one battered green tin, from a working garage at one point.
The green is original. Worn down to the metal in places, held in others. The circular Castrol emblem still visible on the face. The cap still present and seated and working.
Solid form. No major denting.
This is what a working can looks like after a working life.
