Description
(Tapferkeitsmedaille). Instituted July 17th, 1789. Karl I Variant (1917-1918 Issue). A Bravery Medal I Class, consisting of a round medal constructed of silver, with a pierced ball suspension and a swivel ring for suspension from its period origina for officers, the obverse with a rightward-facing effigy of Karl I circumscribed by his name and title, the reverse inscribed “Fortitudini” (Fortitude) within a laurel wreath with banners at the base, unmarked, measuring 40.2 mm in diameter, weighing 20.08 grams, in very fine condition.
