Antique Pope Leo X111 Colour Print Antique Pope Leo X111 Colour Print Memorabilia

Antique colour print of Pope Leo X111. Pope Leo XIII was the head of the Catholic Church from 1878 to 1903, known for his 1891 encyclical Rerum Novarum, which addressed social issues and workers' rights during the Industrial Revolution. Born Vincenzo Gioacchino Raffaele Luigi Pecci, he was also notable for opening the Vatican Secret Archives to scholars, establishing the Vatican Observatory, and being the first pope to be filmed. He is recognized for bridging the gap between the Church and the modern world through a more conciliatory approach to governments and by acknowledging the social needs of his time.
