Antique 1911-12 King George V LCC School Medal - Named (E. Simeon)

For sale is an original London County Council (LCC) "The King's Medal" from the George V era. These medals were highly prized awards given to London schoolchildren for "Attendance, Conduct, and Industry."
​This is a particularly nice example as it is a multi-year award, featuring both the academic year bar and an additional merit bar.
​Engraved on the rim to E. SIMEON.
​George V (dated 1911–1912).
​Includes the original "L.C.C." oak leaf suspension bar, the "1911-12" year bar, and a secondary bronze laurel bar.
​Excellent vintage condition with a natural aged patina. Details on the portrait and the reverse wreath remain very sharp.
​A great piece of social history from the Edwardian/pre-WWI era. These medals were discontinued in 1920, making them a finite collectible.
