Up for sale is a 100% genuine antique white-metal commemorative medallion from 1885, celebrating the Centenary of the Sunday School in Wales (Canmlwyddiant yr Ysgol Sabbothol yn Nghymru 1885).Front Design: Features the portrait bust of the famous Welsh religious pioneer, Reverend Thomas Charles of Bala (1755-1814), engraved by Thomas Ottley.Reverse Design: Features a full Welsh scripture text from the Gospel of John (Chwiliwch yr Ysgrythyrau...).Condition: Fantastic condition for its age with highly crisp, sharp lettering. Features a neat period-drilled hole at the top edge for suspension/wearing.A beautiful piece of Celtic religious social history.
