This item is an official souvenir lapel badge from the 31st International Eucharistic Congress held in Dublin, Ireland in June 1932.
The badge is shaped like a traditional Celtic cross featuring an embedded circle. In the very center of the cross, there is a detailed relief engraving of a Holy Chalice holding the Eucharistic Host.
Historical SignificanceThe 1932 Eucharistic Congress was one of the single most massive public events in 20th-century Irish history. Occurring just a decade after the founding of the Irish Free State, it drew over 1 million people to a single closing mass in Dublin's Phoenix Park.
