A mysterious client hires Deathstroke to take Carol Ferris to him and ensure her safety. Deathstroke interrupts the battle between Green Lantern and Predator and kidnaps Carol Ferris while they are distracted. Slade takes Carol to a plane, and, upon seeing the aircraft, Carol recognizes who that client might be.

Green Lantern intercepts the plane and continues their fight in the forest. Shortly, Predator shows up to rejoin the battle.

Meanwhile, Arisia wakes up inside the Predator's mind. She sees herself as she was before growing up, still wearing the Green Lantern suit and ring. She starts seeing the history of Maltus, about a mythical Triarch that killed their father. Three demons were born from his blood and hatred toward his children, one of them being Predator. Predator killed his brothers, and he left Maltus to strike at the Triarch's heirs, the immortals known as the Guardians, the Zamarons, and the Controllers. To do so, he found a weak link to the Guardians by using Carol Ferris' Zamaron psyche.

Back in the battle, while Deathstroke is distracted by Predator, Hal attempts to send Carol to safety, but she refuses, saying that she is more useful there than anywhere else. Carol asks him to bring the Star Sapphire persona, and she fights Predator. Meanwhile, Arisia's mind finds a way to escape from her captor, and Predator loses control over her. With a final blast from Green Lantern's ring, Predator frees Arisia.

With the Predator defeated, Hal and Arisia notice that Star Sapphire is pregnant, carrying Predator's child. Then Sapphire reverts to Carol's persona. Deathstroke holds Green Lantern at gunpoint and threatens him. However, the client urges Deathstroke to stop and wait for new orders. Tired of following orders blindly, Deathstroke decides to leave and abandon his task.

Meanwhile, a group of kids bullies a boy walking out of a comic book store. The boy's anger attracts the Predator, and he enters the kid's mind to feed on his emotions.
