Kate Kane meets Renee Montoya at a bar, reflecting on her past experiences in boot camp and beginning to question her leadership abilities. Renee, with a touch of exasperation, urges Kate to trust herself and embrace the leader she has always been. As Renee leaves, Kate receives a call from Red Robin, summoning her to the Belfry.

At the Belfry, Red Robin shows Batwoman footage of Batman being defeated by the Colony. Recognizing the urgency, Batwoman calls the team together, even reaching out to her estranged father, Colonel Kane. Everyone responds except Orphan, who has already been ambushed by the Colony on the Belfry's rooftop.

Colonel Kane reveals himself as the leader of the Colony and disables the Belfry's defenses, allowing his forces to invade. He confronts Kate, explaining that while Batman is powerful, his efforts are misguided. Kane insists there is a war of unprecedented scale, one that Batman cannot fully grasp—and it has arrived in Gotham.

Despite his plea, Batwoman and the team reject Colonel Kane's offer to join the Colony. As chaos erupts, Clayface shields the team, enabling their escape into Gotham's underground tunnels.
