Mac Pro 5,1 (2010) with upgrades

Genuine 5,1 2010 (not a flashed 4,1) in perfect working order with the following spec:

* CPU: Xeon W3680 @ 3.33GHz (6 core/12 thread)
* Memory: 32GB ECC DDR3 1333MHz
* Storage: 1TB Samsung EVO NVMe SSD (boot drive, 1.5GB/s read/write!), DVD+RW SuperDrive
* I/O: 4-port USB 3.0 plus the standard ports (5x USB2, 4x FireWire, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, digital & analogue audio in/out)
* Graphics: Original nVidia GT120 (see below for upgrades)
* OS: macOS X 10.14.6 (latest version of Mojave)

All of the above for €800.

Optional graphics:
Sapphire Pulse RX 560 4GB +€120
Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB +€160
(Both cards are second-hand, the RX560 from 2017 and the 580 from 2018)

Optional additional storage:
2x 2TB WD Red HDDs in RAID0 config: +€100

I purchased this Mac Pro in 2017 from a professional refurbishing company and have upgraded it further myself since then. macOS and firmware have been updated to the latest versions which allow booting from blazingly fast NVMe drives. It also runs Windows 10 perfectly, if that's your thing.

Note the base config on offer for €800 will not run Mojave as the GT120 is not Metal-compatible. You can downgrade to High Sierra, take one of the optional RX560/580 cards, or add your own Metal-supported card.

This is a great machine for Final Cut Pro X (especially with the RX580), photo editing, and any software that can make use of the 12 threads available on the CPU. It also comes with two OWC SSD sleds as well as the original HDD sleds.

Some minor cosmetic scratches (see pics).

Available for collection in Dublin 8 or will deliver free in the Dublin area. Delivery outside Dublin is negotiable. No swaps - cash or cleared bank transfer only.

@LittleImp: The wifi is fine, though I've always used a wired connection myself. The standard Bluetooth works but there are known issues with reception, possibly a design flaw placing the antennae inside a metal case! I've always used wired peripherals so I haven't had enough day-to-day experience of using BT to be able to say with 100% certainty that it's going to be fine for you and your peripherals.

Hi Dearmond,

I wouldn't be willing to let it go separately at this stage, but thanks for the interest.

Just chanced upon this ad as I'm looking to buy a Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB - would you be willing to sell that card on its own for €160?
