I’m asking as last Sunday I bought one of those brand new sealed in box from a seller here on this app, and when I got home an tried using it, it was faulty, it wouldn’t hold the charge. Contacted Apple but they will not change it unless I provide receipt. Thankfully the seller was reasonable enough to give me back my money.
