Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm 1:4-5.5 ED Lens
Externally the lens is in excellent condition and looks like new. However fungus damage is visible behind the front element - this can be seen in the first photo. The rest of the glass seems clear – only the front element is affected.
The issue does not affect the functioning of the lens and photographs taken with it appear clear and sharp. While I believe the fungus has been dealt with by exposure to UV light, the residue remains visible. It may be possible for someone with more knowledge than me to clean the lens internally, if necessary.
As well as photos of the lens I am attaching some photos taken with it yesterday (the bee and the seagull are crops from larger images).
