Dell Precision 5540 4K UHD

Dell Precision 5540 professional mobile workstation for sale strictly for parts or repair.

This is a high-spec model featuring an Intel Core i7-9850H six-core processor, a dedicated NVIDIA Quadro T1000 professional graphics card with 4GB GDDR5 memory, Intel UHD Graphics 630 and an excellent 15.6-inch 4K UHD touchscreen.

The NVIDIA Quadro T1000 is a dedicated workstation-class graphics card designed for professional applications such as video editing, CAD, 3D design, graphics work and content creation.

The laptop stopped working during a BIOS upgrade. I attempted the official Dell BIOS recovery procedure, but the recovery was unsuccessful. It no longer boots and is therefore being sold on the basis that the motherboard requires repair or replacement.

The Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA Quadro graphics remain fitted to the motherboard.

I am only interested in selling the complete laptop and will not dismantle it further for individual parts.

SCREEN CONDITION

The 15.6-inch 4K UHD touchscreen is in excellent physical condition with no visible marks or scratches.

A high-quality German-made matte/gloss screen protector has been fitted since I purchased the laptop in summer 2023.

The screen alone is a valuable replacement component. The asking price also reflects the recently fitted genuine Dell battery, recent genuine Dell charger, Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA Quadro graphics and the other remaining usable components.

NOT INCLUDED

• No RAM included – compatible RAM is available separately in another one of my listings
• Wireless/network card has already been sold and is not included
• No M.2 SSD, hard drive or other storage drive is included

The laptop retains its internal M.2 NVMe SSD slot. It also includes the additional 2.5-inch SATA drive bay, caddy and connection hardware, allowing both an M.2 SSD and a compatible 2.5-inch SATA drive to be fitted.

PARTS COMPATIBILITY

Compatibility should always be confirmed using the exact Dell part number before purchasing the laptop for a particular replacement component.

130W charger:
Commonly suitable for Dell Precision 5510, 5520, 5530 and 5540 models, as well as Dell XPS 15 9550, 9560, 9570 and 7590 models that require the same Dell 130W small-barrel adapter.

4K touchscreen assembly:
Suitable as a replacement for a matching Dell Precision 5540 4K touch configuration. It may also suit selected Dell XPS 15 7590 configurations where the display assembly, touch connector, cable and Dell part number match.

Battery:
Batteries fitted across the Dell Precision 5520, 5530 and 5540 and Dell XPS 15 9560, 9570 and 7590 ranges can vary in capacity, dimensions and Dell part number. The exact Dell Type or DP/N should be matched before assuming compatibility.

CONDITION AND SALE TERMS

There is normal cosmetic wear to the lid and outer casing from use, which is shown honestly in the photographs. The 4K touchscreen itself is in excellent condition.

The motherboard, Intel Core i7-9850H processor and NVIDIA Quadro T1000 graphics remain fitted, but the motherboard is considered faulty following the failed BIOS upgrade.
