Price Drop - Yamaha Dx7 Mk 1

Price Drop - Yamaha Dx7 Mk 1 Price Drop - Yamaha Dx7 Mk 1 Keyboards and Synthesizers

In its early days the DX7 had been taken out gigging somewhat but not in a big way, just locally at the weekends over a couple of years.

It eventually ended up in my studio and has been there for 15 years, where I found a good amount of use for it in my work.
Not so long ago I bought a DX100 and eventually came to the conclusion that I would keep the DX100 as it is much smaller and in turn try to find a new home for the DX7.

The Yamaha DX7 Mark 1 is becoming rare and as a result more in demand.
It’s fully functional, battery was changed a couple of years ago and the electronic component that Yamaha had released a warning about (because is was a potential fire hazard) has been replaced with the newer safe component.
There are some cosmetic blemishes (see in pics) but overall it looks, works and sounds great!

@salmo salar yeah I bought a Novation k-station from you a few years back! I might have met you in the studio after that again??

I think it’s a fairly straightforward soldering job, I had an engineer do it at the time.

I can PM on it😊

Jees, many thanks. Yes I'd be keen to sort it. Is it difficult process? My experience with keyboard internal electronics is 0

Hi, just curious as I have one exactly the same. What was the component that you mentioned that yamaha stated was a fire hazard?
And how did you fix it?
Just asking cause smoke started to come out of mine when using the on/off switch at back. But fine if I switch it off and on via plug.
