German Orthodox Silver Heavy Crucifix(Circa 1850)..22 grams

Here is a super rare and truly magnificent German Orthodox Crucifix and sterling silver chain..The piece is three inches long(bale included) and depicts Chist on one side and the Virgin Mary on the other.. along with other religious icons and figures.I have spent an awful lot of time gently cleaning this..and getting it back to a point where it's beauty can be fully appreciated..yet the potential new custodian can still see the age in the piece..This is definitely a hand built piece,that has 835 German silver marks on the body and on the bale of the cross..The rear of the bale carries a faint maker's mark and the body has another assay mark.The piece is now in stunning condition,with no damage or repairs to report.It sits on an eighteen inch sterling silver chain and weighs 22 grams..I can also offer the new custodian a leather chain of similar length with sterling silver closures (as an alternative).. Registered post is included in the asking price..I doubt that there is a nicer silver cross in the country.. This is very very well priced..and I will offer it to a wider audience in Europe,if it is not appreciated here.Thanks for looking please check out my other ads.
