Antique Japanese Meiji Bronze Dragon Casket / Jewellery Box (c.1880–1920)
A finely cast Japanese bronze casket from the late Meiji to early Taishō period, richly decorated in high relief with a powerful three-clawed dragon among swirling clouds and waves, clutching the sacred jewel (tama). The side panels are adorned with chrysanthemums and peonies – symbols of longevity and imperial Japan.
The box rests on four rounded feet and retains its original dark brown patina with subtle reddish undertones. Interior wood lining intact
