Sony Walkman DC6 Professional - 1984

Sony Walkman DC6 Professional - 1984 Sony Walkman DC6 Professional - 1984 iPod & MP3

Selling my Sony Walkman DC6. I used it to record a bit of my own music to tape, from an analog desk. It's a very good device. These go for sale nowadays for €650 for a working model, to €400 for one needing repairs.

This one I'm selling is clean, great cosmetic condition. But in need of repairs.

Comes with genuine original leather case.
I also have Sony APM007 AV speakers for it in a separate ad. Better photos available on request.

Powers up, and motor spins, but no audio. There is a guy who fixes these in Ireland.

@congluong89 no worries dude. It's a sweet cassette recorder. I never knew how good it was until I looked it up. Proper good. I should have taken more care of it, My dad gave it to me. I got the leather and velvet cover off eBay, original era cover. And the speakers are proper nice too, I got them from eBay Italy. One tweeter is a bit scratchy not hard to fix (I can't do it myself). Would be great to hear if that guy who fixes DC6s is still around. I don't want to be hassling him if he has retired. He used to work in the BBC, before retirement to Ireland. Lettuce know if you hear anything.

@congluong89 Enthusiast communities and forums (e.g., Stereo2Go, Tapeheads.net) mention a technician named Paul Carrington (paul.at.paulcarrington.co.uk), who was based in Northern Ireland and known for expertise on WM-D6/D6C models. However, this info is older (around 2017–2020), so availability isn't confirmed—it's worth emailing to check if he's still active.
