Porsche 911 997.1 Sport Design Steering Wheel with Airbag

Removed from my own 2005 997 as I changed to a different steering wheel. In perfect working order, airbag & horn all good.

A very easy DIY 10-minute plug and play upgrade from the base model triangle steering wheel, all you need is:

1. disconnect the battery (negative off first)
2. Remove the airbag by popping the releases from the access holes in the back using an allen key
3. unplug the airbag harness / wires
4. use a 12mm triple square to remove the steering wheel bolt
5. before you remove the wheel, mark top dead center on the hub axle with a sharpie
6. carefully remove the old wheel, making sure not to knock / disturb the clock spring too much
7. put new wheel on, making sure to line up the top dead center line on the wheel with the center line of the hub you just marked
8. torque up the wheel retaining bolt again
9. connect new airbag harness
10. push new airbag in to place until it clicks
11. reconnect airbag (negative on last)
