2. Tape head cleaned and serviced — excellent stereo sound from both channels.
3. Circuit board checked — in very good condition.
4. Stereo playback and stereo FM radio — enjoy your music the way it was meant to be heard.
5. Speed calibrated using a 3 kHz test tape — set to the correct standard tape speed.
6. This is extremely important. With vintage cassette players, incorrect tape speed can completely ruin the listening experience, making the music sound noticeably too fast, too slow, or simply wrong.
7. Powered by 2 × AA batteries — easy to find and replace anywhere.
8. Smooth, rounded design with a very comfortable grip — a lovely player to hold and use.

SONY has always had a special sound, and this player is particularly enjoyable with vocals and spoken-word recordings. The sound is warm, clear and very engaging.
Why buy a serviced vintage cassette player?
With a vintage cassette player, “it works” is a very low standard.
A machine that has been sitting unused for decades may still turn on and play a tape, but that doesn't mean it is actually performing as it should. Incorrect speed, dirty heads, worn mechanisms and poor maintenance can make a huge difference to the sound.

However, when collecting the player, I will provide batteries and a cassette tape for you to test it properly before buying.
