Sony MDS-JB930 QS MiniDisc Deck - Serviced & Fully Tested

For sale is a Sony MDS-JB930 QS MiniDisc deck in black, fully working and in good overall condition.

The deck has been cleaned, lubricated and thoroughly tested. Playback and recording have both been tested successfully using analogue and digital inputs. Disc loading, editing functions and TOC writing all operate correctly.

The MDS-JB930 is one of Sony’s higher-end QS series MiniDisc decks, featuring ATRAC Type-R, a high-quality R-core transformer power supply, Current Pulse DAC, PS/2 keyboard input for convenient disc and track titling, Time Machine Recording, Pitch Control and both optical and coaxial digital inputs and outputs. It is a superb choice for anyone interested in high-quality standard SP MiniDisc recording.

Having owned and serviced several Sony MiniDisc decks, including the JE480, JE520, JE530 and JB980, I found the JB930 to be the most impressively engineered internally. The build quality and component quality are noticeably above the JE series, and it feels every bit like the premium QS model it was designed to be.

Please note this model predates MDLP and NetMD. It records and plays standard SP MiniDiscs only.

Cosmetically there are a few marks consistent with normal use. The fluorescent display is fully functional and perfectly readable, although naturally not as bright as when new.

No original remote is included. I have been using it successfully with a Logitech Harmony universal remote, which provides excellent compatibility with the deck.

A fantastic sounding, beautifully engineered MiniDisc deck that is becoming increasingly difficult to find in fully working condition.
