it is unlikely that a Porta 7 repair would be economical - what is wrong with it/

Hello,
I have repaired various Tascam 1/2" tape machines and lots of 1/4" Revox machines.
I downloaded a service manual and circuit diagrams for the C278 and the capstan speed control circuit is quartz crystal based so should provide very accurate speed control.
I can have a look at it for you but I do have a couple of repairs to complete at the moment so could not promise a quick turnover.
