A charger is included, do not believe it is the original. The Battery charges fine, and I have only run it for about 10mins in testing. Plays DVDs and CDs, It is second hand, not a new item. It is in good condition, and doesn't come with any guarantees. This item is not available to buy new anymore. The original idea I believe was to compete with the introduction of the Apple Ipod
