This amplifier is IDEAL for classic gaming as it comes chocked with multiple composite and s-video inputs. You can leave your retro consoles connected to the amp and enjoy a single output to your screen with high end audio output, including conversion to 5.1 for your home cinema speakers. I've included a photo of the back of the unit to give you an idea of the possibilities with this beast of an amp.

The unit also has a phono stage, so you can connect a turntable without additional amplification. Digital audio input is also catered for, so you can connect modern audio equipment via SPDIF or Coax and still enjoy that legendary Onkyo sound. Worth mentioning also is that you can run a second set of speakers, switchable from the front panel, so you can have your home cinema surround system connected alongside a set of hi-fi speakers and switch between the two, i.e. a 5.1 system for movies and gaming, and decent set of floorstanders for music listening.

Typical top notch Onkyo build quality, with a heft to match (it weights around 12KG).

The TX-DS575 is an excellent example of the later 'hybrid' A/V amps, combining analog video and digital input with digital processing capabilities and 24 bit/96khz digital to audio conversion.
