Not going to get into a long silly discussion on this

But .......

This is a very well built unit with high quality parts designed to have a long life

The loading tray and laser heads are absolutely not a "weak point" on this unit.

I have no idea where you came up with that

My unit has had plenty of use and is still working as perfect as it was on day one.

Capacitors do not need replacing yet and I would expect not to have to replace them for a few years yet.

It really sounds like you are trying to sabotage the sale of this guy's equipment to be honest

The asking price is pretty fair for what's on offer

As you said, it is not for everyone, it is an exceptional player for those who appreciate its audio and video quality. Thanks for the comment.

However, my friend really likes this device.
He's delighted with it.
He's considering buying it.

I fully support the respected phil5k!
Moreover, it supports 3D, which is important to me, and the exceptional sound quality far exceeds the price of this device.
However, I would like to point out its age – about 15 years old!
The weakest points of this model are the loading tray and laser heads. At this age, they already fail or are on the verge of breaking. I've encountered this myself. Replacing the electrolytic cells, of course, is not on this list. Furthermore, the non-original remote control doesn't perform all the settings. And the original one, unfortunately, has already broken.
Nevertheless, if not for these potential age-related flaws, the device would be excellent.

Just FYI: If all you want to do is play Blu-ray movie discs and you are outputting to a cheap audio system, this is probably a little overkill

This is a relatively high-end Blu-ray player which has a pretty high-quality DAC-chip on board.

Its target audience would be audiophiles who want an audiophile-quality experience in a combined music-disc/Blu-ray/DVD player which can also play etc discs

if you're an audiophile the DAC alone makes this player worth considering

But it doesn't do 4k UHD discs, but it does do 1080 and just about everything else (SACD etc) very well

I have a UD7007. It's a Blu-ray / DVD-
Audio / DVD-Video / Super Audio CD / CD player. It doesn't play 4K UHD discs. Google the full spec.
