Cable clearance
The mount has only 5 mm of clearance behind the USB-C port, so a standard straight cable will not seat properly. Use a slim 90° USB-C male-to-female extension adapter — for example, this one on AliExpress. Plug the right-angle adapter into the iPad, then run your normal USB-C cable out the side. The cable cutout at the base fits standard 3 mm USB-C cables.
