Goldring Lenco GL78 Turntable, Shure cartridge (Refurbished)

This highly regarded Swiss-made idler-drive turntable is from the 1970s, and is essentially a GL75 with added automatic stop and tonearm lift functionality at the end of a record. A very useful feature over the Gl75, and can be switched out by a small knob at the rear if desired. This model is rarer than the GL75. The turntable speed is continuously variable from below 16rpm to above 78rpm with stops for the usual 33,45 & 78 speed settings. The fitted Shure M75EDII cartridge has had a new aftermarket stylus fitted. The deck has been refurbished including replacing the arm vee blocks, and greased/oiled where appropriate.
It is in very good condition including the plinth and cover, and the hinges work well. It now works exactly as intended by the makers.
