Riving Knife
A strong tool with a heavyweight steel blade for splitting wood. The blade is sharp and the back of the blade can be safely struck with a mallet or maul for extra force. The ash handle is in good shape.
The tip of the blade is a clever idea. If a split happens easier than you expected the blunt tip of the blade strikes the ground or chopping block instead of the sharp edge.
