A very collectable slasher / briar hook made by Pierce of Wexford sometime before 1982. In very good condition. The edge is sharp and ready for work. With a handle fitted it is too long for my courier but I have supplied two handle rivets and a slasher handle can be obtained from any good hardware shop.

The original Pierce's Foundry, which at one point was the largest agricultural machinery and engineering manufacturer in Ireland, permanently closed its main doors in 1982. A subsequent spin-off business, Pierce Engineering, attempted to revive and manufacture "Pierce Edge Tools" out of Kerlogue, Wexford, but that operation officially shut down in late 2002.
