A magnificent right handed side axe in very good condition. Stamped "Gewerkshaft Seebach". Gewerkshaft is the name of the company or union who made the axe, Seebach is the region in the black forest formerly famous for high quality iron and steel. The blade is properly sharp and ready for work and the ash handle is in good shape.
Traditionally used to hew logs into square beams these axes are very sought after by chairmakers and timber framers.
