Paul Cochrane Timmy Overdrive (Clone and Copy Edition)
The Timmy Overdrive is a classic transparent overdrive circuit. Because budget clones (such as the Caline Pure Sky or Mosky Audio Transparent Overdrive) use the exact same circuit layout, this operational guide applies to almost all Timmy copies.
THE CONTROLS
Gain: Controls the amount of overdrive. It goes from a clean booster to a touch-sensitive, gritty drive.
Volume: Controls the overall output level. This circuit has massive headroom, making it excellent as a clean solo boost.
Bass: Cuts low-end frequencies. On most exact clones, this knob is a "cut" control. Turning it fully counter-clockwise means zero cut (maximum bass). Turning it clockwise cuts the bass. This control is pre-overdrive. If your tone gets muddy at high gain, turn this knob clockwise to clean up the low end before it distorts.
Treble: Cuts high-end frequencies. Like the Bass control, this is usually a "cut" control. Fully counter-clockwise means maximum brightness. Turning it clockwise rolls off the high end to tame harshness.
