Very good condition.

Boss OD-2 Turbo OverDrive (Made in Taiwan, Black Label) is a highly regarded transition-era variant of the classic dual-mode overdrive. Originally launched in 1985 as a Made in Japan (MIJ) replacement for the legendary OD-1, production eventually shifted to Taiwan (MIT) in the late 1980s.

Specifications & Design

• Circuit Architecture: Built entirely from discrete components and transistors with no integrated circuits (ICs) or traditional op-amps, providing a uniquely dynamic, JFET-driven response.
• Power Requirements: Designed for the vintage Boss ACA 12V DC adapter system. When powered by a modern 9V daisy chain or unregulated power supply, the LED may dim and the headroom can drop unless modified.
• Controls: Four-knob layout consisting of Level, Tone, Drive, and the signature Turbo On/Off selector switch

Dual-Mode Sonic Character

• Normal Mode (Turbo Off): Aimed at replicating the smooth, mid-forward warmth of the original OD-1. This mode provides a highly transparent, subtle grit, though players frequently note that the unity gain is remarkably low, often requiring the Level knob to be maxed out to match the clean signal.

• Turbo Mode (Turbo On): Radically alters the pedal’s clipping structure, delivering a massive surge in gain and saturation. At moderate settings, it transforms the circuit into a thick distortion unit; at high-drive settings, it shifts into a dense, highly compressed mild fuzz texture.
