BOSS Nextone Artist 80W

A reluctant listing, but I have purchased a tube amp equivalent so it may be time to move my beloved Boss Nextone Artist 80W on to a new home. This is the best solid-state amp I’ve ever played, and for me, far surpasses any of the Boss Katanas (come at me).

The Nextone combines an analog Class AB power amp with digital technology, such as onboard delay or tremolo, and reverb. It has a really great line out with a touch of room emulation for direct recording, as well as an effects loop. Nextone Studio allows you to sculpt EQ settings with your computer, including how each valve power stage reacts, sags, and drives the amp. I’ve dialled mine in for a 6L6 Fender Pro Reverb style sound, but you can create almost any classic amp configuration you want without spending hours and hours clicking messing around.

This amp has been my main gigging amp over the last few years, the price reflects some of the wear to the cab, but it is in perfect structural condition and is built like a tank. I’ve played pubs, bars, theatres and festival stages with this amp and it’s never let me down. Loud, articulate, and made to be played with a band as much as a home recording or practice tool.

It weighs just over 16kg, so is perfectly manageable and has a leather handle which makes it much more comfortable than a plastic equivalent.
