Vintage greeting cards
Twenty two and twenty six new old stock greeting cards. The messages are "Hope I offer you my friend" and "Love I share with you my friend". The cards are blank inside.
Both designs date from the late 1960s or early 1970s and are influenced by the psychedelic graphics of the time. The images on the cards appear to be colour reproductions of felt cutouts.
The cards originally came in a box which included white envelopes, but the gum on these has long degraded, causing them all to be sealed shut!
The cards were printed in Ireland and bear the branding on the back of the cards of the Divine Word Missionaries Roscommon.
The cards could also be used as postcards if you're prepared to go to work with a guillotine or an X-acto.
A unique and interesting graphic design time capsule.
